Our firm offers a debt settlement program designed to assist consumers eliminate certain types of debts at significant discounts. This program may be an option for you if you have unsecured consumer debts such as credit cards, personal loans (excluding student loans), lines of credit, and utility bills.
One of our firm's first actions under this program is to send a letter to your creditors or their collection agents advising them we represent you. Our letter requests that all future communications be directed to our office and not to you. If you are a resident of Ontario, B.C., Alberta, or Nova Scotia and you are receiving calls from a collection agency with respect to a particular account the collection agency is legally required to direct all future communications to our office.
Under our firm's debt settlement program we work with you to create your debt settlement fund. As this debt settlement fund increases in size over time we contact your creditors or their collection agents and attempt to arrange favourable settlements. These debt settlements may allow you to save thousands of dollars eliminating some or all of your unsecured debts included in a debt settlement program. In some cases it may be possible to settle a particular debt for as little as 30% to 50% of the amount of your original debt-and sometimes even less than 30%.
Our firm's debt settlement program may be an option for you if you are experiencing financial difficulties, you have a minimum of $10,000 in unsecured consumer debts and you are employed or have access to settlement funds. Our firm's debt settlement program is an alternative to credit counselling (where a consumer pays 100% of the amounts owing to creditors). In addition, our firm's debt settlement program may also be attractive if you want to eliminate your debts for significantly less than 100 cents on the dollar but you are not eligible to make a consumer proposal because you are not insolvent.
